FAW COACH EDUCATION LEVEL 1
FOOTBALL LEADERS AWARD ONLINE
This online eLearning award provides a basic and engaging introduction to the organisation of football practices in a fun, safe environment with an emphasis on engaging with the young players of today.
The award provides learners with an opportunity to discover and consider the technical and social support that we, as coaches, can provide to our players, discussing various practical aspects. These include: the importance of area size, practice transitions, progressions and regressions, as well as ensuring the learner takes a closer look at themselves, their role as a coach, and how they currently share the messages they provide players.
A 8-hour practical day following on from your 5 Online Modules providing a basic introduction to the Organisation of football practices in a fun, safe environment with an emphasis on engaging with the young players of today.
This is a mandatory award for all coaches involved in junior football in Wales and will be supported with post-course online resource(s).
A three-hour course developing an awareness of first aid techniques within a football environment, supporting key basic life support information for coaches and additional post-course electronic course resource(s) provided. http://www.firstaid4sport.co.uk
A three-hour interactive on-course workshop to support candidates in developing good practice when working with children and vulnerable adults from across our sport.
The workshop will focus on identifying poor practise and recognising signs, symptoms and forms of abuse and how to react to concerns or disclosures. It will also provide advice on how to identify people and organisations that can help and provide support in such situations.
A range of local workshops that aim to provide support and information for coaches working at grass roots level with junior clubs in Wales. The courses also form part of the FAW revalidation requirements and will be delivered via FAW accredited tutors and/or leading Professional club coaches from across Welsh Football.
The 6-hour FAW Revalidation Conference, the showpiece of our regional foundation calendar is delivered annually within all 6 of our area associations across Wales, provides candidates with an opportunity to gain an insight into the development of our national game and attain further information and practical examples via a guest speaker.
This will count towards your CPD hours to support revalidation of your level 1 and 2 awards, all conferences are Free of Charge to attend.
FAW COACH EDUCATION LEVEL 2
The FAW C Certificate is delivered over a period of five contacts and a one off course mentoring session. It is designed to educate candidates in the technical, physical, psychological and social requirements of modern football. It will develop candidates’ ability to plan, prepare, deliver and reflect on coaching sessions for the development of players.
Coaches will complete online modules and coursework throughout the course. Coaches will also be expected to deliver practical sessions, both on and off course. However, there is no formal assessment.
Continue on our Coach Education pathway with our 4-day FAW ‘C’ Certificate, Coaching Goalkeepers course. This course will aid your ability to plan, prepare, deliver and reflect on coaching sessions.
You will be supported through practical and theoretical work as well as on course mentoring sessions and distance learning specifically for the development of Goalkeepers.
The FAW Trust reserves the right to refuse any application access to the FAW C Certificate Programme if the applicant does not meet the required criteria.
The FAW C Certificate, online transitional workshops are designed to provide candidates with the opportunity to complete post course tasks to support in achieving the FAW C Certificate, Youth qualification to go alongside their existing FAW C Certificate, Senior qualification.

FAW COACH EDUCATION SPECIFIC
Huddle is the FAW Trust’s Girls Football Programme aimed at 5-12-year olds who are new to football. This training workshop will cover topics such as engaging new girls into football, understanding individual motivations for participation, exploring barriers and challenges that females face in sport and will explore the practical element to Huddle delivery.
A six-hour practical course following on from your 5 Online Modules, providing a basic introduction to the Organisation and delivery of goalkeeper specific activities for our next generation of players.
The course will focus on developing candidate skills in the Organisation of practices in a fun, safe, learning environment and additional post-course electronic course resource(s) provided.
A 3 hour practical coaching course following on from your 5 Online Modules, providing an introduction to the key concepts of Futsal. Content will include key techniques, skills and tactics, example coaching practices, an understanding of the Laws of the Game and how Futsal should be played.
